A COLLECTION OF EPHEMERA RELATING TO ALAN VILLIERS to include pottery plates depicting The May Flower in Plymouth Harbour, a Pyro Joseph Conrad model, Villiers charts of the West Coast of Scotland, fishing pilot and a small quantity of photography equipment to include a Kodak Retina 1A , a Contaflex, a Cunard Line Eight Decades of Progress British Empire Exhibition Wembley 1924, Prints of the May Flower II, a Gil Eannes hospital ship bronze plaque dated 1955, Circumnavigators Club awards of merit etc This lot belonged to the late Alan John Villiers (1903-1982), Author, Adventurer, Photographer and Mariner. He commanded square-rigged ships for films, including Moby Dick and Billy Budd. Amongst many accolades and achievements he was awarded the British Distinguished Service Cross as Commander in the Royal Naval Reserve During the Second World War.
